The crackling lens , as of a man who smolders in Venice heat & cannot stand
the two-legged anywhere on the streets,
and if swatted like all the down-trodden, were he to see clearly, wouldn't like it,
either, not on this pissant hill of a world;
nor will murky crystal clouds, made in the Punjab, be enough to daub the brow
like refreshing thoughts of wife & home.
