Céline on life

«Je ne me réjouis que dans le grotesque aux confins de la mort. Tout le reste m'est vain. »

Death and life (and throw in love) are laughable, not instruments of self-torture but of amusement. A fatality...there's no such thing; just a fitting end to a bad stage musical with front row seats that's gone on too long. What a bore and what better response to it all than happy laughter.

Ah, Céline what a funny man you were!
